Featured Program

Imagining Iowa
Iowa State University is currently working on “Imagining Iowa,” a multi-pronged approach to exploring aesthetic, ethical, environmental, and social concerns arising from international bio-renewable initiatives in Iowa and the Midwest. For example: technology supposedly makes the world a “better” place, but what is “better”? Who will benefit from the emerging bio-renewable economy? How will communities and landscapes be affected? Plans include research support for students and faculty who wish to explore these topics, and a possible “communiversity” celebration in 2008 that would coincide with Iowa State’s sesquicentennial celebration and National Humanities Month.
