Jamie Haft joined the Imagining America team at Syracuse University in November 2007 to support the research and implementation of The Curriculum Project. Her primary interest in civic engagement in higher education is the perspective of faith-based institutions, tribal colleges, and historically black colleges and universities. Jamie received her undergraduate degree at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she organized various community-based arts initiatives on campus and in the Lower East Side. After NYU, she received a fellowship to study the role of tradition and spirituality in community grounded cultural work in Israel. Jamie currently serves on the Leadership Advisory Group for a national coalition of cultural activists called Voices from the Cultural Battlefront: Organizing for Equity. Locally, she serves on the Board of an organization called SyraJews, a network of young adults working to revitalize Syracuse.
